Overview:
Persons under the age of 13 cannot create their own user account, they'll need a parent or a guardian who gives their approval via their user account. By approving, they will automatically become listed as the parent of that child's account.
Instructions:
1. Account Registration for Person Under 13
- When creating an account in GotSport Live, the user needs to enter information about the birth year. If the birth year implies that the person is under the age of 13, a message will appear that states:
"Due to your age, your account will need to be approved by your parent or guardian in the next step"
- In the next step, the person then needs to enter an email address to a parent or guardian that can approve their account.
- After the link has been sent to the parent or guardian, the person is instructed to contact the recipient.
- After the parent or guardian has confirmed the account the person under 13 can start using GotSport Live.
2. Account Confirmation for Parent or Guardian
- The parent or guardian specified by the person under the age of 13 will receive a "Guardian Validation Email" similar to the one below.
- To validate the account of a child, the parent or guardian also needs to have their account in GotSport Live.
- When entering GotSport Live, the parent or guardian will be informed that a person under 13 has asked for confirmation. The confirmation process includes verifying the child's profile and accepting the terms and policies.
- By accepting the terms and policies the parent or guardian takes responsibility for the child's account and usage of the app. Briefly, this means that the parent or guardian is responsible for the child's usage of the app, and for the content that the child uploads.
- When the child's profile has been verified and the terms and policies have been accepted, the confirmation process is complete. The children can now start using GotSport Live.
