Overview:
GotSport uses an email-based username login. Each username must be unique, therefore if an email is already being used as a UserID, any new users will not be able to use that same email address.
Sometimes, players can mistakenly be assigned the email/userID that the parent is supposed to use. This guide will demonstrate how a club admin can remove the UserID from the Player and assign it to the parent.
Instructions:
Step 1:
- From your Admin view, click Club Management > Players > Locate and click on the player you're working with.
Step 2:
- Remove the email address that is in the UserID section.
- A Contact Email is required, but userID is not.
- If the player is not turning 18 during the seasonal year, they are not required to have their own UserID. You can assign them one if preferred.
Step 3:
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save
Step 4:
- If you need to create the parent account, click the Family tab
- Click Add Parent/Guardian
Step 5:
- Search the UserID
- When no results are found, you will be prompted to create the account. Remember that you are creating the PARENT account for the already existing PLAYER.

NOTE*** Parents: You can also sign into the GotSport player account, delete the userID, and click Save. This will remove the email from GotSport, however, you will still need to work with your club admin to help create your parent account with that email address for you. You will no longer be able to sign into GotSport until the ID has been input again.
