This article will demonstrate how to create a coach from within your club account.
Step One: From the Dashboard page, click on "Coaches" tile (if you have the Default Dashboard layout) or click the "Club Management" drop down and select "Coaches" from the drop down list.
Step Two: From the Coaches overview page, click "Add Coach"
Step Three: Enter the Coach's Email/UserID, First Name, and Last Name DOB & Postal Code and select search. This will search the system to alert you if a matching coach already exists.
Note: The Coach's Email/User ID is the only required field. If you fill out all 5 field, you can add the coach instantly to your team (instead of sending a 'request a role' email to the coach).
A Common error is "email already exists." Here are the most common reasons for this error if you know the coach does have a profile:
- The name entered does not match the one on the coach's GotSport account. Make sure the name entered is an exact match and not a nickname or shorter version. Example: Jen vs Jennifer.
- There are spaces before or after the name when you enter it in the field
- The coach accidentally used their own email address to create their child's or spouses account. Check with the coach that they have a separate account from their child's/spouse's account.
Step Four: If there is not a Coach with matching information for those three data fields, you will be prompted to enter the information to create a new user.
Please note: You will then give the coach their email/userID that you entered and have them 'reset their password' to complete their account set up.
Once you have entered all the information, click "Save". The coach will now appear under the Coach overview page.
Note: If you need to add the Affiliate and/or Competitive Level to an Individual Coach account, click on their name to go to their Profile and click Edit
From the Edit page, you will select the Affiliate Name and/or Competitive Level for what you want to adjust. Be sure to Save your changes when you've completed making the changes
You can also edit the User's Competitive Levels in bulk from the List Overview page. You will enable the checkbox next to the Users that you need to adjust and click the Bulk Update Competitive Level to adjust levels in bulk
